Two Turtle Doves: Loved Ones

[Oops! This didn't get posted yesterday because I couldn't get internet access.] This is a perfect day for this topic because I’m in the airport right now with Boyd on our way to see his family! I am so excited to see my little niece, Alora, who is already 1 year old! We haven’t seen this family since Thanksgiving last year so Alora will be all grown up since we saw her last. It’ll be fun to spend a few days with her and the rest of the Cothrans.

After visiting the Cothrans, we’ll head up to Santa Cruz to visit my family and our other niece, Emily, who is also 1 year old! We are hoping that the nieces won’t forget us too quickly after this short visit with them.

Even though Boyd and I fly more than a few times a year, we rarely fly together, so this is an interesting chance to see the travel habits of my loved one. For instance, he likes to stand up at the gate as soon as they start boarding the flight. On the other hand, I like to wait until they are almost all done boarding so that I don’t have to wait in line for longer than necessary. My other trick is to wait until the airline inevitably asks for people to check their bags because there’s no more room in the overhead bins – I gladly check it so that I don’t have to lug the bag around and I don’t have to pay to check it! Oh the joys of flying!

My Advent corner! (See yesterday's post)
