The first big update is that at the end of May we said good-bye to New Haven, CT: (Good-bye beautiful view of Yale Divinity School)

And we moved a small portion of our worldly belongings to St. Paul, MN! (Hello gorgeous Mounds Park!)

We moved back into the same place we lived 2 years ago, which made it really easy to move and transiting into our new situation here. We are renting a room in E.B.'s beautiful house. She has a great garden in back and Boyd has already planted a few hot pepper plants. There's a tennis court right across the street and we're trying to get out and enjoy it as much as possible this summer.
Boyd is just about done with his dissertation and he'll be working on that and teaching "the American West" history class at the U of Minnesota in the fall. In the fall he'll also start applying for tenure-track jobs all over the country.
Our new address, in case you want to send me a postcard or letter (and why not?), is:
1013 Thorn St.
St. Paul MN 55106
The other exciting adventure that many of your probably already know about is that Boyd and I are traveling to Kenya and Malawi this summer to visit Spirit in Action grant recipients and partners! I've been working with SIA for almost 4 years now and this will be an exciting opportunity to meet my colleagues face-to-face.
About 3/4 of the month-long trip will be business for me and the remaining week or so will be vacation for the two of us. We're going to do some safari rides, visit an UNESCO site with rock paintings in Malawi, and relax on the beach of Lake Malawi.
I think this will fulfill Boyd's strong request to take a vacation to a sunny, warm spot! After our trip to rainy Ireland two years ago - he's been determined to take a WARM summer vacation.
We leave for Africa July 22nd but between now and then I hope to have some great, summer culinary adventures. We're headed to South Carolina for a friend's wedding next weekend and I hope to try some good southern food when we're there.
Bye for now!
